As I’m sure you already know, engaging with fans is a crucial step in creating and solidifying a relationship with your audience. Social media is a great way to do this, there are so many different platforms online now, making the world of social media a whole world of opportunities for making connections.
So what is the missing secret to ensure you stand out from the crowd on social media?
This blog will hopefully shed some light on the answer to this question, and share a few tips with you on how to make the most of your social media platforms.
Google Analytics is a great way to identify your typical fan. This website can help you in discovering facts about your typical fan and this information can then be used to create posts that your fans are likely to engage with the most. The site works by analyzing visitor traffic: such as their age, gender and location; plus it tracks the routes your fans take to reach you and the devices they use to get there. It also learns what they are looking for and what they like. Once you have all this information, you can make sure your posts are targeted to your typical fan and track their conversion from reading your post on social media to clicking through to your site. Don’t forget to ask yourself the question ‘what do I want them to do once they reach my site?!’
www.Buffer.com is also a great way to look into your social media analytics. On the site you can generate a list of your top tweets, which can help to work out what format works best for you in terms of getting fans to engage.
HINT! Tweets with an image and a link normally create the highest conversion rates.
It’s also a great idea to check out which times are optimum for you to post on Facebook. If you go on Facebook Insights and click on the Posts tab, you can find out when your fans are online the most. If you plan for your posts to go out when your followers are typically online the most, then you’re likely to get more engagement.
Obviously growth is a very important factor as well as keeping engaged with your current fans. So how do you achieve optimal growth on social media?
There are so many different answers to this question, but I do have one great tip for you guys. If you are a user of Instagram, then you might be interested in trying out www.Instagress.com. This website, when used correctly, can be a fantastic way to grow your Instagram following and increase your reach. The site was designed to help people promote their Instagram accounts for more followers, likes, and comments. It works by allowing you to automate your account to follow/unfollow accounts, and also liking and commenting on photos. The best part is, there are so many different parameters available to use, meaning you can target accounts in specific locations, accounts who only have over a certain number of followers, accounts who have hashtagged about specific interests… The list goes on. You don’t even have to use all the different actions available, if you want to like photos but not comment or follow, that’s cool. Or, if you want to follow, like and comment, that’s cool too. It’s a really neat tool if you’re keen to expand your Instagram following, and it’s relatively inexpensive. You can undertake a free trial which has no strings attached, you don’t even have to enter your credit card details!
Sometimes it can be hard to think about what to actually post on your social media platforms. It’s important not to just focus on promoting yourself (by posting constantly about upcoming gigs etc). Of course it’s important to mention these things, but make sure that your followers get to see your personality too! Talk about something that interests you, or share snippets of your day-to-day life. If you’re stumped for inspiration or you’re not sure what to post, we have a trick up our sleeve.
www.Buzzsumo.com is a website great for finding ideas on content. Simply search a hashtag or topic, and the site will show you what works best for generating engagement on various different social media platforms. For instance, when searching for ‘new album release’ the website shows you what has worked best for others when they have posted about that same topic. This website is really handy as it allows you to see what works in order to do more of what works!
The most important thing of all is to STAY ACTIVE. Never let your social media pages go through a dry spell of no posts, even if you think your post is uninteresting, it is still much better to post something rather than to post nothing!
